Despite the health, social and economic challenges posed by the global Coronavirus pandemic, these Peace Ambassadors have used their lived experience and expertise to create meaningful change. The 2021 cohort comprises of young leaders who have an excellent track record of promoting peace building, conflict resolution, and community building in their countries. With the overall objective of empowering young leaders in developing countries to contribute to preventing and countering violent extremism and build peace in their communities, One Young World and the European Commission has brought together a fourth cohort of fifty One Young World Peace Ambassadors.

Since 2017, the European Commission has supported 200 young people in developing countries who are active in P/CVE and peace building initiatives.
